I agree with your interpretation, but I'm not sure I follow the hypocrisy. Christianity doesn't accept everyone's actions. Love everyone, yes, but accept everyone?
I'm not saying homosexuality is a sin, I just wanted to contest the "hypocritical" comment. |

It really is sad.
I love when lyrics are specific enough to remind us of particular events, but vague enough for open interpretation. |

Beautiful song. These are great lyrics for reflecting on a traumatic event. I get the sense someone unexpected was there for Mr. Tillman in a time of need. Those moments reveal so much about people around us. |

All of us ache, for answers to questions
We're up on the hillside, waiting, awaking
Oh Gabriel, when will you speak to me?
I've felt this so many times. Mr. Vernon's lyrics are so thought provoking. I appreciate them so much... |

I like your interpretation. I still think a girl is introduced in this section:
You arrived and ordered stout, I stared in wordlessness
I just kept noticing your mouth, and how your face just fit
Into every aching void, in what I've always missed some way.
The medley of 'The Orient' through 'Redemption: 1' is just phenomenal. Call me crazy, but I'd put it right up there with the final third of Sgt. Peppers. It's such a shame this isn't a more widely known record. |
