Two Door Cinema Club – What You Know Lyrics | 13 years ago |
oh and by the way, i just watched the music video (<3) and maybe the secret was that she was into chicks? the bathtub scene is what made me think of that...that she was by herself and all of a sudden a woman appeared in her bathtub with her as he was singing "you've known it the whole time" other lyrics that support that: "am i the one to try to stop the fire? I wouldn't test you" and "Why try anything?" and maybe like, the cheerleading/dancers was a cover up? like how the one girl keeps going in those doors and changing costumes? like maybe in one door she was his but in another door she belonged to women? am i thinking too far into this? lol and omg! that one scene when the guys were on one side of the wall but the girls were on the other? does anyone know what I am talking about? *lol goes back to doing chem hw* |
Two Door Cinema Club – What You Know Lyrics | 13 years ago |
I thought of it as the speaker's fight with wanting to stay with the girlfriend or not after he has found something out about her. like he'll be so close to leaving her because whatever he's found out (I am leaving...And I can taste it. It's my sweet beginning) Then he'll go right back to wanting to be with her (In a few weeks I will get time). He's also having this conflict because he is trying to decide whether to believe this "thing" that he has found out about her (To realise it's right before my eyes) and if he really wantd to stay with her that bad, he can look past the "thing" (And I can take it if it's what I want to do) replace the word "take" in this line with "accept" then think about it and whatever her secret is, like cheating on him?, he knows that she is only doing it in her fear of being alone. that is why he is so understanding and complacent in not leaving her. and the only person that know her secret besides him is her (the whole chorus) Maybe next year I'll have no time To think about the questions to address Am I the one to try to stop the fire? I wouldn't test you I'm not the best you could have attained Why try anything? I will get there Just remember I know and i think in this part, he is asking and considering, who is he to stop her in her theory of protection from being alone. who is he to say that she is wrong in having this fear and doing something to prevent it. but he just keeps reminding her that she knows this secret about her, whatever she is doing, and that she is the one that has to live with it, that has to live with the guilt, not him. i love two door cinema club :] |
Two Door Cinema Club – I Can Talk Lyrics | 13 years ago |
okay so i never even thought about tambellina's theory and i didnt exactly think it was about a girl either. its more of a combination of both? lol i thought it more about the whole cheating aspect of relationships. that the "I" in the song thinks that his girlfriend is cheating on him but everyone thinks he is just being crazy, everyone ignores him and brushes it off (loose tongues and arrogence), and the "them" being the "white coats and clever minds". They all think that they are so smart in thinking that the girl is innocent (arrogance) when in reality she really is guilty. and the chorus is more of the character finally getting the guts enough to legitamitely speak up about his worries and getting the courage and balls enough to call her on shit (Now I can talk, no one gets off) The second verse is about how they are still refusing to believe him (a longer sentence brings no more than one that i had said before). And so because of this, he really is starting to consider that it is just him being paranoid but whenever he looks at her he just sees right through her and sees the truth, even though he tries to look past it (It's hard to compromise When I see through your eyes. It's just a common view) so then he gives up on the relationship altogether. her loss (I guess it's lost on you) just a thought :] |

Patrick Stump – Spotlight (Oh Nostalgia) Lyrics | 13 years ago |
isn't there a line missing at the end of the chorus? "Cuz they’re gonna tell you all the rules to break to take away that light of somebody, somebody now" that is, in the lyircs for the "new regrets" version. maybe if the author could specifiy which lyrics these are to? either way, love this. so much. and i like new regrets better. i feel like its more soulful/r&b sounding which is what he's always aimed for, even if others may argue that its "top 40" material...great job patrick, i'll always support you |
