Now I didn't check out the video on youtube of her explaining the song because I don't speak danish, but I do agree that this is, in fact, a love song. But here's what makes it special to me: I always think of this girl who's telling her guy that despite his troubled past, she will love him still the same. She is willing to risk her own to devote it to loving him. Hence the the title "In the Red". Red to me symbolizes danger, yet she doesn't care. So this always led me to think that the guy has some sort of dangerous and dark past and being that now he's with her, he's sort of dragging her down with him...but she doesn't mind. She loves him. Quite romantic. Intense and romantic. |
