well, in your version the promise could be a promise to himself, to be a better person or to her. Or to never lie to her, but his pride didnt let him tell her this before and he kept pretending - "living in a lie" (hence the "between my lies and how the truth gets in the way" part). whichever You prefer. yeah i'm pretty sure that's exactly what those ppl wanted who wrote the Bible. to make you think that you're special, and cleverer than other ppl (who actually really do use their head) so you won't even look for other answers, or solution. you accept where you are and won't threaten their kingdom. or you will even defend it as they promised you something, which can never be proved, therefore they can't even guarantee. it was 2000 years ago, but still works... they knew something... which is called... manipulation. so... who doesn't see beyond the appearence? Bible is old, and full of the self-interests of the leaders of those times. You should find, or write something new... |

who died, for what? do you know that those stories (the bible) about jesus or anything were written about humans who wanted to guarantee their power? somehow i just can't believe them... i don't think the whole thing is a lie, but read The Master and Margarita by Bulgakov. It could have happened that way. And you should read about Beslan 2004 sept. 1-3.I can recommend you Tvrtko's report: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beslan_school_hostage_crisis . i just couldn't love someone who let that happen. and how many other tragedies!Read some Tvrtko novels and you'll see what's really happening in the world. love God, believe in him, but never forget he doesn't help us. So why wouldn't you sing love songs to those who are really there for you, for us? who really helps? There are plenty of people who gives their life for others, not everyone but still does! they don't care if it's the whole of humanities, or only one person. they are STILL able to give their one and only life. p.s.: i don't know ANYONE who died for the whole of humanities sake. Who you think of must be the man who died because he was a philosopher, and propagated peace (and a god) but noone understood him. |

mnieove, honnybee the only thing i can say, that i know that they're a christian band. they do sing about god and christian stuff. but not all the time. and it's a fact. (see Treasure, that song is surely about her engagement, though could be god.... but noooo SHE said that's about the night she was proposed). Anyway love, friendship and other things can be related to christians but also to buddha, to atheists and so on to ANY religion. and if they want their songs to reach everyone(and they do), they let ppl to interpret there song as they want. I don't say this song's about something awful. I say it's about LOVE not GOD. does it hurt anyone? you had an oppinion i had another. and just because i'm so nice i explain you the angel stuff in my point of view:) so you're in love with a real person. there are just you two. you feel so happy that heaven had to come down to the earth (moreover if you believe in god), and angel sent you this moment, they just make everything's alright around. it's poetry. and a very nice picture, heaven, angels and two lovers. Maybe this song is not about it for you, and i CAN, i am able to accept that. BUT for me that's what this song is about. that's what obvious to me. |

She has made it to the place she has always wanted to be. Everything is perfect. ---- Have you ever been in love? i mean not with god... you know sometimes ppl say it feels like heaven... but you might have missed when they mentioned how love feels like... Personally I think it's a love song written for someone (who's actually alive) she loves. "My hands float up above me And you whisper you love me And I begin to fade Into our secret place" yeah it can mean praying but when you're a non-believer lifting up you hands (especially when you're laying on your bed) means you feel free, you're totally satisfied, you can reach everything. and when he says he loves her the most beautifull words for someone who's in love with the speaker, she disappear into heaven with him. Take my hand I give it to you Now you owe me All I am You said you would never leave me I believe you I believe i think it's obvious. I met someone , fall in love, he said him too, i give my hand and with it i give my everything, he promised he would't leave me, and so on. And just because they're a christian band, they can't sing about the most beautiful human feeling, about love (between ppl)? Yeah it can be about god, but it can be about a simplier thing. Yeah, yeah i know you christians see god everywhere, but i don't, so just let me listen to it without thinking about sth i don't believe in. |
