Personally, I believe it runs along the lines of "World So Cold" by Three Days Grace. His heart was broken and now he feels he's sharing a mind and body with Agony- a mixture of feelings of hatred, loss, etc. I have nothing left to give When you deal with Agony of losing someone very close to you, sometimes you get the feeling of "What's the point anymore? Why go on without them?" You were made to make it hurt, Disappear into the dirt. Carry me to Heaven's arms, Light the way and let me go. Here, I believe he's talking about the person he lost. He's fallen from the high [opint of his company with that person, and now they've let him go (not necessarily at any fault of their own). When he says Dear Agony, he could mean Agony itself, or the memory of who he lost who has become agony themself. Mostly I'm going off of the music vid using scenes from 7 Poundes with Will Smith. Check it out, and you'll probably see where I'm comin from. |

This is probably one of Skillet's more depressing songs. When I hear this song, I see a girl coming to tell their best friend/boyfriend hinting at suicide. You come to me with scars on your wrists, You tell me this will be the last night feeling like this. I just came to say goodbye. I didn't want you to see me cry, I'm fine. But I know it's a lie. He sees her and the results of her depression (scars from cutting) and she tells him that she doesn't feel like trying anymore. She still tries to hide it, though, which suggests that she's takling to someone very close such as a boyfriend. But he sees where she's going with it and worries. This is the last night you'll spend alone. Look me in the eye so I know you know, I'm everywhere you want me to be. This is the last night you'll spend alone. I'll hold you in my arms and I won't let go. I'm everything you need me to be. To sum it up, he's saying that whatever she's going through, he plans to do all he can to help her sort it out, and he want's her to know he means it by looking directly at him as he tells her. You're parents say everything is you're fault, But they don't know you like I know you. They don't know you at all. I'm so sick of when they say, I't s just a phase. You'll be okay, You're fine. This shows her parents don;'t care enought to find out what's going on. They assume she's bringing it on herself or it's just a phase they all go through and to jsut get over it. She's tired of hearing it and holding it inside. The night is so long when everythings wrong. You give me your hand. I will help you hold on. He's saying he knows what it's like to feel alone in the world when time seems to drag on forever. But he's trying to show her there are better solutions than suicide and he wants to show her. I won't let you say goodbye. I'll be your reason why. He's not going to let her slip away from life. He wants it to when she looks back on the situation, she'll see him as the one that kept her going. |

Now their relationship is nothing but a formality. Like he doesn't deserve to live after what happened, and the fact that she's gone should be killing him inside. "And I'm the one you can never trust Because wounds are ways to reveal us And yeah I could have tried and devoted my life to both of us But what a waste of my time when the world we had was yours" Here, it's like he's acknowledging that for a while, their relationship did mattter to him, other wise he wouldn't be talking about wounds revelaing what's inside. Almost like he's questioning what could have been if things had been a little different. But then he comes back and says "It doesn't matter now because things would have only worked in your fantasy world I want nothing to do with." So break me down if it makes you feel right (so break me down) And hate me now if it keeps you alright (so break me down) You can break me down if it takes all your might Because I'm so much more than all your lies Here, again, he references her fantasy world, maybe who she wanted to be or wanted him to be in the tangled web of lies she wanted herself to believe. He's acknowledging that he's better than all that and deserves better- one who can love him for who he is and themselves for who they are. |

Perfect way of thinking. Personally I can identify with this song (outside of getting stoned in the morning and drunk in the afternoon). My life is my business so stay out of it. I love how he contrasts the rich and poor because for the 90% of the time part it's true. On a side note, I'd prefer to see the correct lyrics rather than reading it in text language. That just annoys me. |

This song can be about anger on the inside. But it cabn also refer to dealing with one's "inner demons"- so to speak. Hadn't thought about the suicide, but that does make since. I interpret just as losing that one special person and being hunted t=by their memory. Which can also be seen by the line "Now I'm bound by the life you left behind" but also by your face, it haunts my once pleasant dreams your voice, it's chased away all the sanity in me ... I've tried so hard to tell myself that you're gone but though you're still with me I've been alone all along This verse shows that she (also could be a he depending on the person) have teh person they lost continually on their mind. The harder they try to force the memory from their mind, the memory continues to haunt their mind whether the person died or just left. |

Yeah. Definetely my favorite song on the album. This is one of those songs you hear it and it makes you think of someone close in your life. If you watch the official video on youtube where they used scenes from Lazarus starring Paul Walker, it makes more sense the way I interpret it. Long story short, he's lost the most important person in his life and trying ot deal with the loss, while also finding faults in himself that he feels had to do with it. |
