@[Kustard1337:4339] You're not the only one that thought that. It just has a vibe of protectiveness that sounds like it might come from an older brother to me. |

Interestingly, O'Hara is a common Irish surname and Dana or Danu is the name of an Irish goddess. I'm not sure what this means but it's something to think about. |

I agree. An Elixir for Existance seems to be a concept album that revolves around different mental states (illness, drug use etc). |

I don't agree that she sucks but there are certainly better female metal singers out there. Floor Jansen and Simone Simons for example. |

In my opinion this song is about a girl who is bullied at school. At first I thought it she was abuised at home but then the description of her home ''swanbrook'' sounded too nice. If you look at the picture in the booklet she is holding a bag and looking back at her home as if she doesn't want to leave, for school to be bullied presumably. This is my interpretation. |

I like all the allusions to different fairy tales and children's poems in this. To me it suggests that the lyrics are about the imagination of a child and the struggle to regain the innocence that we once had. And the whole album you could say. |

Also, in music the transition from the chord of G to Em is considered the most emotional progression. Or so I'm told. |

There are a lot of allusions to other Nightwish songs in this, it is as if Tuomas is reflecting on his life maybe.
''The nightingale is still locked in the cage'' - The Escapist
''Storytime, river ghosts, mermaids and the ride'' - Imaginaerum album
''Same old dead boy's song'' - Dead Boy's Poem
Not sure about the princess and the panther. Maybe disney?
Also, Covington woods is the name of the woods in a film called The Village.
I may have missed some but these are the ones I spotted. |

That's a really good interpretation but i think maybe the 'she runs forever...' bit could be in his mind. She is running forever through his mind. Only an idea. Does anyone know what role Osten is playing? Vibeke is the woman who died, Morten is the mourner so who is Osten? |

maybe it is to represent how far from the sun and humanity she is, in the underworld. |

I'm not sure that she kills herself. I think maybe she dies naturally. The first time she really regrets it and just wants to live again and then in a sequel of decay, i'm not sure but maybe she visits Hades who lets her live again. She definitely visits someone. |

In this song i think that the 'me' character is thinking about the memorie of his mother and how he wasn't there for her because he was too busy with his career and she eventually died all alone.
I think it's really good how if you listen carefully to the fear and reason bit you can hear sirens in the background. |

has anyone else noticed that some of the growly lyrics seem to be missing too? It sounds something like
''with the savage winter dust...'' |
