Most logical (and by logical I mean non-radical) Christians are fine with homosexuals having legal marriages, even if it does make for a bad environment to raise a child. The line is drawn when homosexuals want to be married in a Christian church. That is ridiculous. It's like going to a mosque and asking for a baptism or going to a Christian Church for a Bar Mitzfah and then being offended when they didn't do it. That's ridiculous! |

I actually happen to be a Biblical scholar haha, but yes that's correct. When God revealed his plan to incarnate himself as a human being and that he would raise up Mary as Queen of Heaven, Lucifer, an Arch Angel, was disgusted and wouldn't have it. The angels are so far above human beings that the idea that he would be below one of these disgusting creatures horrified him. A similar equivalent would be as if God made a cockroach ruler of all humans. Anyway, 1/3 of the angels felt the same way so God let them have their way. He allowed Lucifer to retain his "power" in hell and the angels that followed him became demons. Raw deal since they're crap compared to God. |

how is that mocking him? He's simply saying "i don't need to see some great miracle, just give me the faith to believe." I don't see that as mocking at all. And the question of "You can't even help yourself, how will you help me?" is the beautiful paradox of the Gospels. If you looked into Christianity a little you'd understand that this question is adressed many many times in the Bible. Most directly when the Jews and Romans are asking him "if you're the king of the Jews, then why don't you come down from that cross and save yourself?" and the others that were crucified asked the same thing, but when the thief who repented admitted that Jesus was Lord, Jesus responded and told him that "he would indeed save a place for him in his kingdom". and as the bible states, when he died, the whole earth trembled and the veil was torn. The answer to your question of "how will you help me if you can't even help yourself?" is that he could have easily saved himself, but instead he chose to accept the punishment of suffering that you should have had to show his immeasurable love for you and so that he could see you again in heaven. So if you accept this sacrifice that he's given for your salvation, then you will gain salvation. That's how he will save you.

Anyone who listens to DMB knows that Dave has had many a fase where he's gone back and forth between Theism (obviously Christianity) and Agnosticism. I feel this songs meaning is pretty clear whether people want to admit it or not. He's praying. The bartender is God and he's apologizing for what he's done wrong and it seems that he's not only longing for salvation, but seeking reconciliation with the people he's hurt in his life on Earth. and that's what's up.

oh my gosh lulz333, you literally have no authority whatsoever to make that claim. Have you figured out the whole universe by simple ignorant observation coupled with your prejudices and preconceived notions? HA not a chance. why don't you take a step back and be real with yourself for a second. None of this is possible without God.
Anyway Indianajohnson, I completely agree. after a few listens, that's the same impression i got. another thing that came to my mind from the lyric "where you invest your love, you invest your life" is that hes trying to express that love is what we live for and the common Christian knowledge that God is love leads the subject back to God. |
