after reading your comment, it just hit me that this song could be about something like being responsible for screwing someone's life up, and having them tear themselves up hating you for it until the "house" is "flooded" and they both end up "drowning" in all that destruction. figuratively speaking, of course. just a thought... |

yea there's no doubt that the literal interpretation of this song may be a little...graphic. but i don't think any band writes a song with something like that as the sole message. instead, i think the song is supposed to deal with something much simpler, like the feeling of being trapped in a relationship, or being involved in an overbearing one. and i think it's important to take the phrase "stranger's nightmare" into consideration. it intrigues me that this "nightmare" is supposed to be the "stranger's" instead of the one "starring" in it. |
