| I'm pretty sure this song is about fearing death and accepting that more than likely there is nothing waiting for you at the end. Accepting reality and trying to cope with it. People are retarded if they listen to this song for entertainment. This isn't some generic metalcore band with "sick" breakdowns. This song is way more spiritual. My favorite part is when he says "Everything I've done wrong would amount to this. What I'm feeling in my chest, the burning fire of my fear of death." and then right after that boom! So powerful. | i actually just talked with adam fisher at an orbs show about this song and he was the one who wrote it. david doesn't write all the songs. adam grew up in a very christian family and hated feeling a fear for something he didn't believe in. he said he feels that fear because he was brainwashed and is so traumatized that he always feels like he's being watched by "god" even though he knows he's not. | |

| i thought really long and hard about this one and what i've come up with is. i think it's about the creation of a persons schizophrenia. the creation being person who looses their mind do to being sad and lonely and creates the opposite alter ego they wish they could be but not as the with the personality that they currently have. sort a sicker less funny version of me myself and irene. some of it is unclear and a bit bazaar to me. i can't really tell wether or not to take some of the dialogue literally do to the fact that some of it only makes sense literally and some of it only makes sense metaphorically. that's what i think. i actually just think the song was written about the mentally ill sounding rhythms and guitars. lol. i'd love to ask the person who wrote it exactly in detail what it's about, but sadly i will never get to see them live because the've broken up. it sucks because i heard this band for the first time live in 2006, but didn't know their music. i actually met jase and had the opportunity to ask him these questions, but had only been a fan for like 30 minutes after i heard them for the first time. haha. maybe someday i'll come across that guy again. | |

| okay, making a profile on this website, i had absolutely no idea so many people other than myself loved this song. i think the lyrics in this song are about the comparison between the typical mainstream human being and a slaughterhouse where poor animals are brutally murdered hence the "sound of grinding metals always looming near by, their bodies are caged and so are their minds". i honestly think this sounds like a vegetarian wrote this song. almost trying to prove a point to a closed minded human being. "filthy fucking animals" <--- kind of what a typical meat eater advocating the slaughtering of animals would say, "they're just like you". <--- implying people who advocate killing animals to eat are just like animals in the sense that they hunt and kill like one making them hypocrites. by saying "we're animals", like he is too, maybe he feels bad about his addiction to meat? maybe. i don't know. this is just what i get out of this song. | It's really hard to say. She writes things that you'd only understand if you at least knew a subject and it makes it difficult to understand because she's not being too specific. My best two guesses are she could be talking a father (could be hers) having affairs with other people as she mentions "he shuffles the queen around in a deck of cards" and it breaking her heart to see her family torn to pieces by it. the rest of the lyrics suggest differently. my better guess is that it's just about a boyfriend (maybe hers) of a long time is cheating on her as she says "it saddens me to know you could start a new life leaving everything behind". or i actually have a third idea of what this could be. merge the two and her father is cheating on her. they do live in the south you know. lol. jk krysta. | |
