my friend recently took her life and this song reminds me of her. to me, it's a song about her looking down on us (i.e. "i'm in the sky" and "the land and the sea are distant from me")and all the peace on earth and the peace in her heart now. this is such a beautiful song, feist conveys emotions so honestly and powerfully. |

I've always viewed the pickle as a metaphor for a dildo. All her "rage" (sexual tension) is gone afterwards, and she realizes how love can heal her. But the next day, when she goes to use it again, she realizes she wants a human, cause *cough* USING just the "pickle" isn't really love. |

Depiction of my life right here? Yup. Basically, music helps us get by. When you're friendless or empty or depressed or feeling useless just turn on one of your favorite songs cause it's gonna get you through. |

This song's message is so simple and beautiful and TRUE. I think it's about someone who's in love with his best friend and they're incredibly close, but in the end bring each other down and the singer doesn't think they can be together. He just worries about all the horrible things happening in the world, and so does his friend. He needs to find someone who can lift him up. |

This is SUCH a beautiful song. Anyways, the meaning of the songs quite obvious. It's just about leaving all connections and material possessions behind, the things that hold us back from being able to reach true love, and just having each other.
I sure want to sail away... |

The woman and guy who impregnated her. Playing with matches is a metaphor for them having sex, it's dangerous and risky, but only sometimes you get burned. Likewise with da sexa. |

This song is by far one of the most emotional songs I've ever listened to. Reminds me of my first love. Basically, I think it's about a girl who was in a relationship which wasn't quite so serious and just seemed like it was a fun thing at the time. But it ended like any little fling when he left London, leaving her behind. Although it just happened, once he was gone, she realized how much he really meant to her and realized she was actually in love with him. Now she's just waiting for him to realize the same thing and come back. But he's not gonna.
In the beginning it sounds like she's singing to a friend, telling her to move on. But then she sings "my one" and you realize she's telling herself...makes it even more heartbreaking.
I sob every single time I listen to this, just gets me(: |
