this song is like..the whole story ... all those emotions that change constantly trough thinking about all these different stuff (zombywoof33 explained it perfectly) it's like leading you trough the whole stage of life.. i don't know, i guess this song really effected me x) it's so good to see a song of that greatness made by young people. mgmt, congrats! |

i agree with @feel me loud, i'm just a little confused because i can't really come to a conclusion what's up with that "little girl" thing...it seems like this "girl" brought him happines, and it doesn't necessarily mean it's a girl, could be a drug or sth, but on the other side, he's talking of shoes, credit cards, the store...it's maybe a bit too obvious that's all girl stuff and has nothing to do with drugs (as far as i know)..so could be a girl that he really likes but also criticizes her...because she's trying to suit everyone and is influenced by fashion..too influenced perhabs, and she thinks it's really cool what she's doing, but she's really just being used - by all that fashion stuff and could also be by people around her...who make her use drugs and she's trying to be popular or sth.. but. this line: It would only take a few seconds of darkness to figure out what's in store could also refer to the fact, that from outside she's all beautiful and good and perfect, but once you don't see (her/it/him/could be pretty much anyone or just mankind in general) from the outside, and you focus on the inside it's all different...like when a person is in love, he sees his loved one as a perfect person but than he.."wakes up" x) well, not necessarily love, could be just a criticism for all the "fake" people... oh well, the more i think, the less sense it makes..congrats MGMT, you suceeded to do it again! xD |
