In case anyone's wondering the diolouge comes from the movie Catch22. And i don't think it's about the Iraq war. I remember Tim saying he doesn't like writing a song about a specific country so i think it's just about war. It's like Hero of War in the sense that it's told from the perspective of someone who's gone to war and deostroyed their lives there.
But yeah it's a great song. |

Music is not political?! Of course music is political, it has always been political. The first music before pop or rock or rap or whatever is what we now call folk. If you have ever listened to folk you will find (with exceptions) it is very political. Take bob dylan for example: just look at the lyrics for with god on our side. (I know that bob dylan is more recent than what i'm talking about but it's still a good example.)

MissNeurotic, the reason bands like rise against sing about politics is because they want something to change. Besides even if the war ended rise against would keep singing about politics because the war in iraq is only a small part of the bigger picture. |

Why do all of you idiots think this is a sad song? There are lot's of songs which make this song seem happy in comparison. It's just a regular break up song sung by a fifteen-year old pop star idiot. Break-ups can be deppressing but when your fifteen it's only to be expected. This song is terrible and i wish someone who is popular (like justin bieber) would write songs that make people more aware about the issuses of the world not just about popular culture. |
