| Darren Hayes – Strange Relationship Lyrics | 15 years ago |

It's odd, but I've found this song to relate also to relationships with yourself, unlearning bad habits and patterns in your life. It may even apply to non-lover types who you know are being abusive or just not understanding of you. Sometimes it's easier to just run to arms you know will comfort, even if they also give pain, too. |

At first I thought it was about a tumultuous relationship that both parties resolve to keep trying on, regardless. Now I think it's about how you have to separate yourselves, you and your partner that you love, from negative people or influences in your lives to remain together. It's also about dedicating yourself to the idea of sticking together, no matter what you have to do, truly. |

| Darren Hayes – Step into the Light Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| This reminds me much of a feeling of rebirth and reconciling your past, self-hated persona with a new one who *can* love and try to accept it. It sounds like it may reflect Darren's own feelings of guilt on finding his own homosexual self and coming to terms with the fact that he wants to feel worthwhile as himself. This is about someone trying very hard to be friends or lovers with someone new, not quite trusting yourself or others, and not quite rid of the negative programming of the past. | |
