I think this song is about loving someone who does not love you back and staying together even if that`s the case. These verses really show that: ``And I will make sure to keep my distance Say I love you when you're not listening And how long can we keep this up up up`` and ``I wish we would just give up Cause the best part is falling Call it anything but love`` It`s like she`s just waiting for the official end of their relationship but she knows that they`re already done and they don`t love each other anymore. I can relate to this. It`s kind of how my relationship with my ex was. |

I think this song is about depression. Therapy in this song is literally a therapy treatment used to cure him of his depression. Apparently, it's not working/didn't work because he says therapy was never a friend to him. "My ship went down In a sea of sound When I woke up alone I had everything" probably means that he just wants to be alone because when he woke up alone, he felt that he had everything (to be alone is all he wants). Another stanza says.. "My lungs gave out As I faced the crowd I think that keeping this up Could be dangerous" This might mean that seeing people makes him tense because he doesn't want to (a symptom of depression). "A handful of moments I wished I could change" might mean that he has done a lot of things wrong. "You're lucky if your memory remains" and "I'm a walking travesty" might mean that people want to change him and he tries to conform. This is a sad song about a person getting depressed because he is not accepted by others and he is forced to put up a face to make people believe that he is someone else. |
