This is without doubt the best song on an otherwise mediocre record. It's definitely about an ex but it's more complex than just that, cause it seems like she still wants him too or isn't getting over him: "She's in the basement crying, she can't give this much of a fuck again". Anyway these lyrics have way too many faults, I'll post better ones after a careful listen one of these days :) |

Wow, nobody's commented on this song for over 2 years! Anyway I've been listening to this for ages, but it's only just started to impact me. To me, this song is about being stuck and unhappy in a relationship (especially a long distance one) and not being able to let go for whatever reason. But the other person doesn't feel it as bad as he does "I hold on (I can't let go) but you don't know how I feel". And also how he's tried other things, other people maybe and how that doesn't even begin to help (bridge lyrics). Anyway that's just my interpretation, dunno quite how the verse lyrics fit into my interpretation though. By the way, I think that one line should be "And nothing is *as beautiful". |
