This song is definitely not against gay marriage in fact it is very much for it. this song barely makes any reference to being pro-life or pro-choice. this song is clearly about the oppression that homosexuals face in the united states and compares that to oppression faced in gaza. the opening is about a same sex couple hence the singer wanting adoption while their partner wants to give birth. that is why they go with fertilization. the last line of the first verse is a statement on the unfair treatment to same sex couples because they do not allow domestic partners in the delivery room. the chorus refers to that if they were a superhero they would no longer have to deal with the bigotry of anti-gay feelings and that people couldnt make other people feel like homosexuality was wrong or that homosexuals were crazy. the line i would see my baby is a reference to again the inability for domestic partners to be there for the birth of their child. however you are right in the fact that this song is definitely against hate and makes a clear statement that hatred will lead to death. |
