This album came after Joshua Tree and Rattle and Hum. Sounds were different and they made a HUGE statement that they realized that sounds were changing and that they weren't going anywhere. They were right on par, if not ahead, of the change. That's it. THEY ANNOUNCED IT WITH THIS SONG.

This is years later and I don't make comments very often. Can't believe that people think that U2 makes songs about anything not grandiose. Passing of time IS grandiose.

I started in college in 91' and this is the first album my new friends listened to. Thought it was good, but now great. We thought we blew speakers at the beginning, because of this distortion. |
