Celldweller – Unshakeable Lyrics 13 years ago
Obviously (and thankfully) a reference to his Christian Beliefs

Heb 12:28 So since we are receiving an UNSHAKEABLE kingdom, let us give thanks, and through this let us offer worship pleasing to God in devotion and awe.

"Beyond the reaches of our galaxy
Three figures (Father, Son, Holy Spirit ?) watch over us all
As suns are rising on a distant planet's shores
They are watching, and waiting, always orchestrating

Celestial covering of human kind
Perfectly hovering in space in time
A world that turns when They're in control
Means we're bound to stand on ground that's UNSHAKEABLE"

Celldweller – The Last Firstborn Lyrics 15 years ago
Just my humble opinion

The Bible often calls Jesus the FIRSTBORN of the dead, i.e. he was the first one resurrected, or born from above, in glorified form.

“…and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, THE FIRSTBORN OF THE DEAD, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood…” Rev. 1:5

I think this song definitely goes back to Klayton's religious roots. I dont think Klayton has turned his back on God, but is questioning why things seem to be the way Klayton perceives them. You can be a Christian and question God. You can be angry at God, and still love Him. You can love God and still honestly present you questions and doubts to him. Faith is not faith UNLESS there are uncertainties and questions. It doesn't take much faith to say that if you jump off a bridge you will fall. It dies take faith to say that you believe God will eventually make everything right, even though you can’t see how he can possibly right all the wrongs.

“Oh man, I can't believe that you did what they said you did
And to this day I've still gotta say that in my mind I question it”

I think he is questioning the popular, yet unbiblical, religious view that a loving God allows people to burn for ever (after all “The wages of sin is DEATH” , not eternal life while burning) …..whether by rejecting God or not….how can anything possibly warrant conscious unending burning…forever

“Now I wait to take my turn to bleed
Like a kid playing with a razorblade
And wonder if I have the balls at all or am I gonna be afraid.
Where are you? What do you think? cause I'm not sure when knocking at death's door if I will be welcome in
or be left alone outside”

I think he is questioning suicide, maybe he wants to die (see lyrics for ONE GOOD REASON… “you tell me I shouldn’t want to die, but cant give me one good reason why”), but he is afraid of the consequences of killing himself

“I guess there comes a point when you
think to yourself
This isn't worth it, it isn't worth it.”

I thin he fells that life isn’t worth the pain (see lyrics for SWITCHBACK “I don’t want to play with such a price to pay”).

“And to the other firstborn (JESUS.. “firstborn of the dead”) , I see the same scene that must play over in your mind and now how much more I'm sure it's fucked with your head just like it's fucked up mine.”

I think he is saying that he is feeling mental pain and anger similar to what Jesus is recorded to have expressed

“Listen my son” (I think this is the voice of God, calling him a Son of God)

“The message you sent out to me
I can't change what's meant to be
The message you sent out to me
I can't change what's meant to be”

I think he is saying that God told him that God cant change what’s meant to be…that is God cant change the fact the Klayton, and everyone, is meant to go through trials and tribulation “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

"I dont want tommplay
With such a price to pay"

I think he is saying that life is too painful and not worth the effort
He doesn't want to play (life)
With such a price to pay (all the pain in life is not worth the benefit of life)
