I know its been said that this song is about a deer, but I can't help but think of it in another way. When I close my eyes and listen to this song, I think of a woman or a young girl on her way home at night, possibly hurt enough to where it makes her have to stop and rest. She's hoping that the streets will stay empty and she'll be able to get home in one piece, because really, whats scarier than walking home alone in the dark? The whispers in the wind is her own paranoia, hearing voices that aren't there. When she's thinking of how to change herself, she's either keeping her mind busy, or trying to encourage herself to be more courageous. The one man tent, is obviously, herself in her own mind. |
