I think it's directed at most of the fans and other "emo kids". He's saying how most of his fans get away with not fitting in because they'll just be "emo". ("So darken your clothes, or strike a violent pose). Gerard is directing himself when he was younger or an outcast kid. This kid is staying true because he's not becoming "emo" (maybe they'll leave you alone but not me). "What you got under you shirt, Will make em pay for things that they did!" could be referring to a gun, but I always thought it was referring to his heart <3. Anyway, I believe this song is generally about Gerard talking to the fans that don't like My Chem. b/c they're emo, but solely because they like the music. All the popular kids will watch them to tease them ("They gonna clean up the looks,With all the lies in the books,To make a citizen out of you,Because they sleep with a gun,And keep an eye on you son so they can watch all the things you do". I think the chorus is directed at his "emo kid" fans. Maybe not. Thanks <3333 XD |

| I personally love this song. I think the reason nearly every-other line is absolutely random is because shows how he would think of things and live life, but everything comes back to the summer girls, or his one special "summer girl" because he always thought of her. | okay so it might not be the best singing ever and maybe it's "off key" but it has the eerie and mysterious feel of the white stripes, and if you don't like this song then you prob don;t like them becasue THIS IS WHO THEY ARE. (if you don;t like her voice, don't listen to it) Personally, i love it! there is just something about her voice that no one else has, like-- "In the cold, cold night" is amazing. i love them. | honestly, i think it's about a guy who likes a girl. they kissed once, it meant nothing to her. his nightmare of her with something else are overwhelming him, and he is trying to talk himself out of it, but it's not working because the nightmare are becoming reality. love the song though! oh, and i think the vid has nothing to do with the real meaning of the song.. | |

also, "Where we at, only few have known Go on the next level, Super Mario" because so many people have sex before they know each other, or are married and i think what he means becasue in todays society not many people skip that part. and as for the 'next level' part- i think its like how most people think of the next level as sex but hes ooking at the level after that |

to play devil's advocate- in my opinion its not like that at all. i think the part with the glow is like her personality. and the guy whos singing is talking how amazing they can be together. so i think its proving a point that they dont need to go that 'low' with that relationship-cuz its real |

truly beutiful song. the chorus is so pretty. i also love the music really gives that feeling that you're actually taking flight, but not in a plane. i am such a big fan of the song...amazing. anyway i see how it could be about getting high,but i like to see the better in everything, so i agree with "naomifosho". i think its about a guy wanting to be with a girl, and he wants to show her how astonishing their relationship can be. or he's just showing his girlfriend how amazing he is. love the song.....stellar... nice job far east movement & ryan tedder. i agree with "creamofthecrop". i think its about a relationship and the woman says that she needs to explore, and find herself. i think that the man realizes that she's perfect and he doesnt want her to think of him as "plain ol' Jane". But, hes just thinking of all that stuff i his head and hes trying to make it look like he doesnt want her anymore but then he realizes that there is "room to grow" |
