"Why the dreams have gone to hell" is "Why their dreams have gone to hell." "They teach from a liars cherub" is "They teach from a liar's chair, a pulpit..." |

| Envy on the Coast – Starving Your Friends Lyrics | 15 years ago |

PEOPLE. get the lyrics right. my God. you cant fuck with such an amazing song. i completely relate to this song, from how i interpret it. i think it's just personal. the beginning has to do with religion, with the "He". "He constricted the veins heading straight to my head, rerouted the blood to my heart instead." then, where people think it's better to think with your heart and not your head, i disagree. your heart can completely fuck you over. your head = common sense, if you dont want to get yourself hurt. since the blood's to his heart now, he's "braindead", seeing everything backwards, not how it should be or otherwise how he wants it to be. and, yeah. go from there. this song is amazing. the lyrics are on my top favorites, which are hard to come by. oh, and i love Envy. and i miss them. |

this song is fucking DIRTY. it could be about fragility: roses. then the whole "harder" concept with the drunks and screaming and EPICNESS. |

| Glassjaw – Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Silence Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
i have NEVER felt so much power and emotion from a song. gave me fucking CHILLLLS, man. oh my God. the only thing i have to say about the lyrics is the end [my favorite part]: "All wasted away. I'm digging a hole. This is what it's like to be alone." its actually "I'm digging a hole. I'll shut out the world. [insert line i dont know but really want to find out]. This is what it's like to be alone, this is what it's like to be alone." ^anyone know that line ? Daryl ? thank you. and i'm sorry for the both of us. |

| THISISFUCKINGAWESOME. | |
| Glassjaw – Oxycodone Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
this is just my interpretation. i feel like he's writing a monologue while on drugs--figuratively or literally, whatever. he just writes whatever comes to mind. and i feel like he's sort of having a conversation with himself. especially in the second verse. everything he's saying is a symbol for something else in reality, and *is* a symbol because of the oxycodone. then, the chorus is more flat out: "Would I lie to you? Yeah, I'd like to..." could translate to "Of course this is true, even though I wish it werent." then they're laughing at him because he's hiding the truth behind symbols / drugs. honestly, this song is one of my favorites. its like a poem, the way he reads it and everything. oh, and its "...for I've taken [pulls] until it's aerial" by the way. |

| i dont understand why this isnt on the actual album... | |
| Envy on the Coast – Puritan Dirt Song Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
this song is fucking delicious. i think it could be about defying God. that's a huge maybe though. he could be saying how he's done bad shit all his life that God would ultimately "look down upon". looking at it the "How I'd kill to be clean" piece, it could be how he wants God on his side. maybe. like, he'd kill for God to be able to say "He's a good one", but he's contradicting it by saying "Holy Mud." so. to an extent, he's probably thinking God needs to chill and live a little, maybe like Ryan does. dunno if that makes sense ? |

| Envy on the Coast – If God Smokes Cheap Cigars Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
in a way, they're just discussing the antics of religion, and questioning it. "I'll start to worry when I'm dead" refers to the rest of the song, with the whole possibility factor. there's all these "misleading" things that they dont know what to think. why waste the trouble now when you can deal with it later ? |
|
| Envy on the Coast – Company Of Men Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
its like a little poem-song, as i like to call it. i think it has to do with America's view of the "ideal" type of guy. with the whole "Your piece of pie, your suit and tie" thing. these guys follow the American Dream with their whole lives based out. and if they fail, they lose: last line. |
|
| Envy on the Coast – Bad News Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| oh. and this song is fucking awesome. | |
| Envy on the Coast – Bad News Lyrics | 15 years ago |
