I doubt these lyrics are serious. The only "track record our history shows" of end-times prophecies have always been wrong, and it's been predicted hundreds of times. I suppose there is always the chance of stupid paranoid people unintentionally causing massive problems as a self-fulfilling prophecy but as far as those calendars go there is no reason to assume their ending on that date means apocalypse. Worst I can see happening is a bad solar maximum f*cking up our satellites and electronics. I am sure security measures are being put in place for it. Anyways, awesome band. Great new disc. |

I can see this being sort of a commentary on a typical human response given the situation you described. If a species advanced enough to cross interstellar or intergalactic space came to enslave us, I guarantee our little nuclear toys wouldn't do us much good. If such a thing happened and the situation was made public I wouldn't even be surprised to hear world leaders deciding our best course of action is to try to bomb the sh!t out of them. What if they Tuh-kar-jawbs? I think I agree with Mortis on the lyrical topic though. We'd be flies to anything that advanced anyway. A situation like that wouldn't be worth worrying about let alone writing a song. They wouldn't need anything from us or our planet (guessing they could manipulate other matter and planets etc however they choose), and as far as documenting us I'm sure they could figure out everything there is to know about our behavioral patterns in a short time frame. We're probably not worth monitoring long-term, much less taking over or destroying. Former could probably be accomplished within seconds or hours depending on whether they can fiddle with time. Latter instant. I'm sure they'd use antimatter weapons unless there's a more efficient way of removing something from existence. It's probably about our species' childish in-fighting as we go through our adolescence. F#ck are we dumb. |
