I see this song as being about relationships. Most specifically that between the band and it's fans. The fans being the Wolves of course. There's a need for the murderous angels, but at the same time, they are murderous and can suck the life from you and tear you to pieces. On a personal level, this is my favorite Ego Likeness song. It tears me apart. It makes me look at myself and makes me feel deep secret pain, which is both a beautiful and a horrible thing. There is one very specific line that hits me so hard, "I think it's quite likely, I'm a terrible girl inside". I can only listen to this song at certain times because of that line. Between Donna's voice and what it means to me, I break into tears. You see my father committed suicide a little over two years ago, and my immense anger at him and my in ability to forgive him for leaving myself and his grand kids makes me quite sure I am in fact a terrible girl inside. |
