| Sufjan Stevens – John Wayne Gacy, Jr. Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
I think its the other way around. People try to put on a nice demeanor and put up with everyone, but "beneath the floorboards", they are some one completely different. Remember, Gacy was highly respected at the time. He dressed up like a clown at events, he had his picture taken with the First Lady, he owned a construction company, even the neighbors adored him. But deep down, he was a terribly violent and perverted freak. Sufjan is trying to expose the inner-ness of human souls, the malicious part that is covered up by the clowns. I also think it's interesting that the title is "John Wayne Gacy Jr." when the murderer didn't have a Jr. in his name. |

| The Mooney Suzuki – Shake That Bush Again Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I think this is saying to live life on the edge. As Croove55 pointed out, it refers to escaping. . literally shaking a bush like in that movie. But like everyone else said, it's also about sleeping around. The thesis, from what I've seen, is "I don't know where I go, only where I've been" | |
