| Polar Bear Club – Convinced I'm wrong Lyrics | 15 years ago |

This is by far a great song. -Don't try and sound right, just hope your honest -Trust you'll end up somewhere -That girl that made you promise -she says "try not to care" You tell yourself not to think about things deeply. This is about trying to have hope. -I don't know if I'm good, and everyone knows it -You ever feel you were meant to be alone? -Because I saw a play and and a character said -that he was destined to never feel at home It's obvious to others that you're not 'good'. And to yourself that makes you feel more isolated. You feel more normal to be on your own. The reference to the literature may be of a play but also a comparison of a typical tradegy and that your feelings are 'typical' and 'normal'. -Don't go tonight, I'm looking for salt in a snow globe -Because what I had is slipping fast. -Dr. Howe, Please call back You look for the negative, even when there isn't one (salt in a snow globe). What may be slipping fast may not be slipping at all, just feels that way. Also sounds fed up and needs help (don't go / please call back). -I'll wake up tomorrow and still feel wrong for these days Even if you get a good day, you know you'll wake up to the next day feeling 'wrong'. -It's been a hard couple months I'll admit -After tonight I'm not so convinced that I'm wrong Sounds like the coming to terms of yourself and seeing that you're ill or just who you are rather than 'wrong'. -Tonight they're explainable, far from extraneous. Feel at ease with the low, you feel you can handle it. You can understand why and what it means. It doesn't feel like the depression is something you can't understand, it feels closer to who you are, something you have control on. |
