In the beginning of the song its start of, like he,"coma kid" Elliott Smith was talking about this girl that he liked, "coma" seems like he was unaware how life was or how was the girls feelings at the time. "Kicked in reversed" seem like his, "high" dropped down and brought him back to earth. He seen the girls face everywhere to the point that the image of her were in his thoughts and a course the ending about, "disconnecting his mind out" is just a cry to himself in soliloquy to convinced himself that he actually needs to stop thinking about her. I think the song sounds like he is trying to convince himself by thinking back to the major turning point of the relationship until finally to the hypothesis which is to just forget about her, "I'm so sick and tired tryin' to change your mind When its so easy to disconnect mine." That's what the song is about but it takes you on a journey. |

| Elliott Smith – Bled White Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| I think where it says, "don't disturb me... while I'm balancing my past...Cause you can't help me or hurt me" I think this song is about when he was going through a depression of a feeling melancholy and in this song is explaining that he, "I'm never going to become what you became." I think it has to do something with pressure to be someone he really wasn't. | |

"She took my heart, I think she took my soul" - She turn his world upside down, he wasn't himself anymore his life completely changed. "Leaving me stranded all in love on my own, do you think of me?" - I think this is self explanatory, "does she still think of him?" "Open up your eyes" - Telling himself that he has to be realistic about the situations that happen and he has to "wake up." "Baby I'll bleed you dry" - Means that he will try his best to forget about the girl until she is dry out of his system. "Two thousands years of chasing taking it's toll" - He is tired of chasing her, always thinking about her until the point of frustration. He is realizing that thinking about her all the time is not worth it anymore. I think this song is about realizing everything that happen during a break up, it's almost like he is trying to convinced himself to change for the better. Like getting over a break up that ended badly and he wants to move on from that episode in his life. That's what I feel this song means. |

| Vampire Weekend – I Stand Corrected Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| You are right! I was thinking the exactly the same thing. It's feel like the song is saying that he stands corrected because he thought this person was different, but it turn out to be something completely different. That's why he stands corrected. The song has a feel of like he just realized something. Great song! | |
