Woodkid – Stabat Mater Lyrics 12 years ago
I think it's about the beginning of war. A man goes into war, there's a woman he loves and he knows it could be a very long time till they meet again. He might as well die there and never see her ever again.

In the second half of the song, he has already left but thinks about the girl. He's afraid that, once in the middle of war ('come the sound of boots and metal chains'), he might not be able to remember the smell of her perfume and eventually maybe even forget her.

The last verse describes the actual battle (horses, fire...) and how he realises that what happened in the past really doesn't matter anymore cause the war will change everything including himself.
The line 'do you recall when the war was just a game' has this sort of a 'loss of innocence' feel to it.

Not sure about how the name of the song correlates with the lyrics, though. Stabat Mater is a poem about the suffering and sorrow of Virgin Mary, watching her son dying at the cross, so perhaps the theme of parting -two people who love each other saying goodbye- has something to do with it? I don't know. Or perhaps it could actually be about a mother and her son who's going to war...?

Bastille – Albatross Lyrics 12 years ago
I submitted the lyrics very early on and wasn't sure what the right name of the song really is tbh. Literally the only lyrics I could find back then on the internet had the name Albatross, so I chose that one as well. I know now that it's actually Weight of living pt. 1, but it won't let me change the name anymore :(

Woodkid – Where I Live Lyrics 12 years ago
I always imagine this woman from the past, medieval times maybe, who once had a choice - to either run away with a man she was deeply in love with, a man who might have had a certain reputation but promised her "pretty sins and gold", and she knew she could as well be condemned by her family or the people from her hometown if she went with this man - or to be reasonable and marry the other man, this decent, upright, if somewhat boring man, and be a good wife to him. She chooses the latter, but spends her life regretting this decision. At nights she finds herself dreaming about what it all could have been like if she'd chosen the other man despite everything, how exciting and adventurous life she could have led. She realises how dull everything around her is now, her children are gone (either died "on a cold night" or just moved away) and the most excitement she gets now is from "watching her flowers grow"...She was a good, loyal wife, always acting wise, but she knows that if she got another chance, she would choose a completely different life.

Kasabian – L.S.F. (Lost Souls Forever) Lyrics 13 years ago
I also think it's about the effects of drugs (as much as I'd like to find a deeper meaning in it...But the lyrics are great nevertheless). The title is most likely a nod to Strawberry Fields Forever, which is one of Serge's favourite songs.

Serge said it was about dying in a desert with all your friends.

Coldplay – Christmas Lights Lyrics 15 years ago
This song was a love at first sight...

"I took my feet to Oxford Street" I think that, after the fight they had, he's maybe looking for a present for her, since Oxford Street is a big shopping street, right? He wants to "right a wrong" and hopes that with a christmas present she might forgive him. But at the same time he knows that it won't be enough, that's why the shopwindows "tell" him to "just walk away". But he simply "can't believe she's gone" for good and that there's probably nothing he can do about it.

Although the lyrics are kind of depressing, it's a beautiful christmas song. I love how it changes in the middle and suddenly there is a sense of hope that, maybe, the Chistmas lights will bring her back to him, all the troubles will be gone and everything will be ok again...The second half of the song seems almost like a carol to me.
