Lots of references to Ecclesiastes in here. Basically saying all our accomplishments are nothing to get puffed up about. |

This is not a Hawkboy song, it's an As Cities Burn song. Also, it's Pirate Blues, not Irate Blues. |

Pretty simple, just a great song about how the singer has finally found confidence and security in Christ. Love it. |

| Thrice – Like Moths To Flame Lyrics

I've never been this cold, the fire's gravity compels
Like planets cling to sol, I feel my orbit start to fail
Like moths to flame I come, too close And all my oaths are burned
As stars begin to run, all my accusers take their turn
And calling curses down, from my lips lies like poison spill
And then that awful sound, the sound of prophesy fulfilled
And then I met your eyes, and I remember everything
And something in me dies, the night that I betrayed my king
I literally got chills reading this. Dustin is hands down the best lyricist around. |

This song seems to be about God addressing an abusive husband/father. So stoked on the new stuff now, this song is great. |

The "I see God in birds and Satan in long words" line could refer to the fact that he sees God as evident through natural, complex things like birds but sees Satan when studying sciences or philosophies. |

I think that this song is the singer's view on how salvation works. He talks about a "fonder reel" pulling him in and at the same time "giving you a hand". I think it's about him making peace with the mystery of the compatibility of God and man's duties in salvation. At least that's what it means to me. They say they're not a Christian band in their myspace blog but they could be doing that in the same vein as Thrice, not wanting to box themselves up with the "Christian" label. |

I think this song is about an old love of his getting married, hence the "work out the reception seating". He is jealous of the person she is marrying, and perhaps feels that she is marrying him because he has a money, unlike Jesse who is a "poor musician". Perhaps the man is a doctor which would explain the medical references. She is pregnant with a child and he wishes that she'd name the child after him so that he still feels like he is part of her life. He also imagines that his thinking of her and vice versa will cause them to remember their love and cause them to "fall back in love again" but he knows that now it'd be disastrous to her marriage and her future so they need to "take cover".
