The White Stripes – My Doorbell Lyrics 15 years ago
i agree with the majority of this, however i feel that in the very beginning, with the first chorus, he is waiting for her to come back, completely confident that she will. when the first verse comes around "take back what you said little girl...), i believe he is looking back on the fight and solidifying his argument to himself. almost reassuring himself that he was right and hir girl was in the wrong or the one at fault. with the next chorus, I believe we get a sense of him starting to get nervous that she's not going to come back. the "make a sound and i'll make you feel right" says that if she comes back, things will be fine again. in the next last chorus, i believe he feels that she is treating him unfairly by not having come back. he says "i know you feel guilty". he is suggesting, again, that she is in the wrong but it's okay because he has friends and can forget about her. with the rest of the song, i believe he is having doubts about his ability to let go of her...he still thinks about her coming to ring his doorbell but he is also waiting for "they" (his friends?) to ring it and help him move on....when neither happens, he goes back to "make a sound and i'll make you feel right" saying that he would take her back if she came.

now...i could be completely and totally wrong on this. it's just a guess. I love the song whether my interpretation is right or wrong. jack is an incredible musician

The White Stripes – Catch Hell Blues Lyrics 15 years ago
first of all...song is sick. anyways, i think the hot water just relates to the phrase "you're in hot water" meaning in trouble. kind of saying that if you go looking for trouble, don't be shocked when you find some. example: you go looking for a fight, someone's going to hit back ya know?

The Fray – You Found Me Lyrics 15 years ago
poolshark...God is considered by Christians as "the man in the sky with a beard watching when we screw up or playing puppeteer." other religions have different titles or names for their respective deities, but God refers to the Christian deity, the father of Jesus, Creator of the universe. According to Christians, man was created in God's image, however, to search for his role in everyday life seems to be getting carried away. If god were merciful and benevolent, would he allow atrocities such as rape, kidnapping, and genocide to exist? Furthermore, if all powerful, why does Satan even exist anymore? If God is all powerful, as Christians believe and as the Bible states, then he should be able to crush Satan. Finally...consider this: more people have died in the name of Jesus Christ than of any other man, idea, or deity...

personally, I love this song. I also believe that your beliefs are your own. If Christianity brings you peace, happiness, hope, and makes you a better person, then by all means, devote yourself to it's dogma. I respect that and realize that it is a path to assurance, and hope...hope that can sometimes be the only driving force behind a person's very existence. I believe that the whole point of this song is simply to show that hope is a gift to treasure. something we have to love and to which we must hold. no matter where you find hope...cherish it, and never let it slip away.
