I realize Jag has a set meaning for this song, but for the sake of people sharing their opinion, this is my interpretation: "Eyes of glazed humor" [On some sort of drug.] "The haze in my somber eyes, it burns so cold" [The depression of watching time repeat itself.] "As he enters into the world as a ghost" [Somebody close to them who died.] "The terror inflicted scrapes your bones. Let him hold you close" [Knowing you're close to the person by going through the same thing they did. It comforts you.] "'Look' Where? 'Over there' Oh, I see what you mean'" [Other people speaking about said person.] "Fear me" [Stay away, for I don't want you to be like me.] "Step too close to see what I see" [If you get too close to me, you'll become like me.] "Construct desire" [Be control of what you want.] "The fine line between disease and what I need" [Thinking that there isn't a big difference between what you really need(food, water, etc..) and what you think you need(alcohol, drugs, etc..)] "It's exactly what it seems. The horror I live" [Alcohol or drugs are exactly what they look like, it's not a good thing.] "The evil that beats inside me" [The monster inside that's craving more alcohol or drugs.] "It's called my disease" [It's a part of me now. I can't get rid of it.] My interpretation comes from an actual experience. My friend Tayler's dad died from abusing drugs and what-not. Tayler's dad passed away when Tayler was very young, so he didn't know him very well. As Tayler grew into a teen, he started doing drugs. He felt as if he was closer to his father by going through the same shit his dad did. Now, Tayler is fucked up on almost everything you can think of, and he regrets it all. He prefers that his friends not do the same things he does, it's kind of hypocritical, but he can't help it because it's inside of him now. The alcohol and drugs he abuses are his "disease." The same thing applies in this song. Capiche? |

"This is a war we cannot win" (Nobody 'wins' life, everybody dies.) "Our last time to make stars collide right before our eyes." (Live, you never know when your last day of life is. Make something fun happen every day.) "Believe in everything, everything you've ever known." (Gain belief, don't live your life empty. Or possibly, believe in whatever you've been told.) "Reciting words we lost, these years will never be untold" (Stories being passed down from generation to generation. It's like learning your family history. You won't be forgotten) "Daylight fights through the night.. (If you didn't have a great day, there's another day coming for you to spend.) ..with the cries of redemption." (You can try something new.) "The sun ignites the light in our eyes" (A new beginning; a fresh new day to change things.) "And is this possible?" (In your life, you're going to come to things that are going to make you question whether it's possible or not. You're going to try irregardless because it's human nature. The impossible is the thing that surprises you the most.) "This time we fight side by side, you and I" (Friendships, relationships, etc.) "The bringers of light.. (Angels,) ..the teeth in the night" (Or demons. Depending on how you spent your life.) "I won't be alone" (You're not the only one dying; everybody faces death.) To sum everything up, I think this song is telling you to live and love your life, but to not fear death. |

Final Fantasy interpretation: "Machina" was the name for any kind of powered machine in Final Fantasy. They were forbidden because of their destructive nature. So, in my opinion, it's just talking about the creation of one of those monster machines. At the end, it's talking about how the machines went bad; speaking of their destructive nature (Override command confirmed.) But it's whoever's fault for creating them. The creation was "Your machine," therefore, your fault. Non-Final Fantasy interpretation: Being what everybody wants you to be and eventually breaking free of that mold. |

"Eris" is a dwarf planet while "Dysnomia" is a disorder that affects memory. So, basically, the little stuff is the shit you don't remember, so don't dread on it because you'll forget it anyway. Well, that's my opinion anyway. :] |
