the lyrics seem to be a form of saying that he's suffered enough and wants it go away...though on the flip side of it some of the lyrics form an idea that he enjoys the suffering asking to suffer slowly. a deep and dark song...only the best from Breaking Benjamin I've enjoyed them since their first CD. |

only IF YOU think that as a meaning honestly I find it far-fetched to assume that its talking about god just like tripcase said. "you're better then drugs" can't strictly be placed to mean god, it just mean that I don't need drugs when your around. nothing more nothing less |

The strength of everyone's life is different...to some it's god to others its a relationship with a person they are bonded to so close that they give each other emotional high's. now there's a 99.9% chance that Skillet is using it as a reference to god but strength comes in forms different from strictly spiritual sources. for a prime example my strength comes from my family and my friends. |

I'm atheist too doesn't mean you can't find non-god related meanings to the songs that talk about him. the meanings of the songs they write are not for anyone else to tell you the meaning to whether or not you view the meaning as you will is your choice. I can't really see how you can nit pick the songs that speak of god regardless of religious views or choices. just ignore the fact that they speak of god and listen to the underlying message from the song |

I find myself in the same place as the person in this song...finding purpose to wake and face reality instead of wanting to hide in the dreams and memories of the person who's gone. I find myself sleeping earlier and waking later and later since she left. I guess that's reality though,regardless of the effects of a person leaving we all have to face reality and place one foot slowly in front of the other and attempt to move on. |

Just because a band/artist is a christian doesn't mean all the songs they release will be dealing with that religion, though it will have strands that connect the songs to that religion. The most common meaning to me is a person trying to live on his/her own after losing someone they used as a pillar of strength. "I don't wanna live, I don't wanna breathe Unless I feel you next me" this line clearly shows that he/she is missing someone of great importance. Maybe that's why I can relate so well to this song I recently lost someone I loved dearly and I find it hard to even get up and go on with my day knowing that the person is gone. |
