| I really love this song... This song is based on a sort of family that is common on some rural towns in America. The weird thing is that I'm not from that sort of family... but probably later in life. Yet, I can understand what it talks about... I can understand the experience they go through in this song. I can understand this from friends I have who are from families like that. I usually show them this song and they fell in love with it. like, if this song was made for them. | |

Ok. Here's my interpretation of this song, I love this song because it tells so much about my problems with my longtime friend who's a girl. The begining: "I saw the scene unfold on a rainy Sunday Creases indicating folds that kept four walls from caving in I took a little more of what I take for granted And filled my plate with fear that gears would turn And wheels would roll away" (Tells about the fact that I have a crush on her and were longtime friends, I feel like we've been taking for granted with eachother with everything we've done, and we,ve been having problems and complications with eachother cuz want her so much and she doesn't know it. And I fear that our best relationship we have right now will "turn wheels and roll away" cuz of it.) "Entered the scene, I'm told, on, I think it was Monday You drove straight through and mined that quarry For all it could bleed until dry I took a little more until I got taken for granted Because beautiful boys gave chase And when they arch your backbone It's such a dreadful sight" (Tells how she doesn't know the fact that I love her, and since shes a very energetic and very outgoing she talks to everyone, especialy guys, and I show some negativity on that to her cuz it hurts me, but she doesn't see it. so, shes just "driving straight through and minding that quarry". And since she sees other guys and shows off to them, I fear and worry that "They arch her backbone, it's such a dreadful sight" in other words they rape her or some sexual activity with her, but she just doesn't see it like that.) "Something's got to break you down Something's got to break you down" (tells that someway or somehow she needs to know and understand that I love her and care for her, and Im here for her and always, and that what she's doing is wrong and is hurting me.) "And I'll react when faces find you With jealous fits that gag and bind you Because nothing hurts like nothing at all When imagination takes full control" (tells that when she sees someone else, "I'll react with jealous fits that gags and binds her cuz nothing hurts more when imagination takes full control" which is my favorite line, its something that never comes off my mind, something I always think about, and it hurts more when I imagine things about it.) |
