Nirvana – Lithium Lyrics 14 years ago
Excellent analysis @ Paradoxical Martyr

I read somewhere that this song is about his experience while living with a born-again Christian family.
And I heard he was bi-polar too.

I think this song is about how religion affects your thinking and makes you ignore certain feelings, urges and emotions.

And also I think the song compares anti-depressant drugs to religion;
for example when you have problems with the world you use your religion or your anti-depressant to level things out, to make you feel normal or saved by god and to rationalize life and wipe away your worries, which makes you feel ok...
but this only works a short period of time... eventually you will "crack" again.

In my opinion neither drugs or religion are the real solution to bi-polar or paranoia or any mental problems or issues people may have, and i think kurt felt the same way when writing this song.

In my opinion you are your our own Best friend/Worst enemy
Life is Good/Shit ... Both.

Seal – Kiss From A Rose Lyrics 15 years ago
I think the story behind the song is about a man who is alone and sad, then he meets the love of his life and she makes his life great. But then he develops a heroin or coke problem that he cannot kick, so she leaves him. Then when he is out of it on heroin or coke(probably heroin though) he realizes how much he loves her and that she is better than the drugs. Now he is trying to kick the drug habit and convince her to come back to him.

This story fits with the lyrics perfect just read the lyrics and this story will make perfect sense.
PEACE
