This song has nothing to do with actual Religion...I think it's about someone who loves another, thought the person loved them back, but he/she didn't. "I thought that I heard you laughing, I thought that I heard you sing..." <--I think that shows that the person thought/had the misunderstanding that the other loved them. "Oh no I said to much, I haven't said enough", kinda tells us that there's so much the person wants to say, but once they started, they decided it was too much, and (maybe?) useless in the end. This is one of my favourite U2 songs. I think it's about two people who love eachother, but continue to hurt eachother, with lots of misunderstandings, confusion, obstacles, and so on. "And I can't keep holding on, to what you got, when all you got is hurt", is one my favourite lines |

I think this song is brilliant, definitely a favourite of mine. I love the way he sings it, with such feeling and meaning, yet soft at the same time. Sometimes I can relate 100% to this song. love it |
