I disagree with the other commenters. I don't think "I'm just sitting on the shelf" represents her inaction, to me it represents him not noticing her. She's saying she wants him and they've got a lot in common but he takes no notice. |

I love this song. To me its about the walls that people have built between each other and how we live so isolated from each other in this generation. The singer is basically saying that the walls can't keep her away from the one she loves. I especially love the lyric "we built these fences with our hands and time will tear them down again and start over" To me it's saying we can't live like this for long and the fences have to come down. I love The Rescues :) |
