| Headlights – Cherry Tulips Lyrics | 14 years ago |

"I can't sleep in silence; Can't be pitch black in my room. I need some lights on, some distraction So I won't WORRY." Nonetheless, I can agree with halxe. Love it, but don't perfectly understand. Perhaps, given the "so I won't worry," it's about two people in love but with one of them facing troubles. Having the whole sea, then, could be seen as having a world of their own, away from the problems of the current life. And, well, who doesn't love cherries? Haha, the best I can figure. |

"But not my little finger, please, 'Cause I lost it to a lowly FAN." Actually, I think it's "rowdy fan," as "lowly" doesn't make much sense. EIther way, "thug" is definitely wrong. Also, you get YOUR rattle, in both instances. And, "My LINE was flat but now it's been raised," the line being that of an electrocardiogram. There might be another mistake or two, but those are the only one's I am confident in correcting. |

| The Weepies – They're in Love, Where Am I? Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| The general meaning of this song is pretty obvious - the speaker is single, unhappily so, and seeing couples together and in love makes her/him feel sad and left out. I think the "you" in "maybe tomorrow YOU'll be mine" could be a hypothetically non-specific "you" - like, whoever it is that I'll someday love and walk hand-in-hand with and kiss in the rain. Or, it could indeed be someone that this person once loved, or someone who s/he still loves but by whom isn't loved in return. | |

The "beca...(ause)" / "Becca" argument is absolutely ridiculous. If he were indeed spelling the "because" that immediately follows "which brings us to A," then there would be no follow-up, no phrase for the letter A. The "because" is trivial, just a lead in to the "(you) Always run away." B is for Believing you'd always be here for me. E is for Everything, even when we'd see it through. C, C is for SEEin' (play on the sound) through you; you are a fake. Which brings me to A because, because you Always run away. So, would it not make more sense for the "because, because" to come AFTER the finished acrostic, if he indeed were spelling "because"? Yes, why yes it would. The fact that "B-E-C-C-A," when the C is just said twice (without two separate phrases), happens to also be the beginning of "because" is simply a coincidence, though perhaps a planned one. (All of this is in my opinion, which is based on, well, obvious observations.) |

| Edith Piaf – L'Hymne à l'Amour Lyrics | 15 years ago |

The blue sky on us can fall. And the earth can well crumble/collapse. It matters little to me; if you love me, I don't have a care in the world. As long as love inundates (floods) my mornings, As long as my body trembles beneath your hands; Problems matter little to me, My love, if you love me. I would go to the ends of the earth, I would die myself (my hair) blonde, If you asked it of me. I would take down the moon, I would steal a fortune, If you asked it of me. I would renounce my country, I would disown my friends, If you asked it of me. They may well laugh at me, (But) I would do anything If you asked it of me. If one day, life tears you from me, If you die, that you are far from me, It's of little importance if you love me, For me, I would die also. We will have for ourselves eternity In the blue beyond (lit. "in the blue of the immensity"); In heaven, no more problems. Do you know (or "believe" or "think"), my love, that we love each other? God reunites those who love each other. The last two lines, I had trouble translating so they'd make perfect sense in English - I mean, the two could be combined as just one question, also. Michel3, you were wrong on just a few lines throughout. The second-to-last line, for example: "se aimer" in the context means "love each other." |

| Anchor & Braille – Sing Out Lyrics | 15 years ago |

I absolutely adore this song, and, apart from the "along the wood" bit, I'm nearly certain that these are the correct lyrics: Sittin' here, Dreaming of days far from here Laid in no particular year, oh oh oh. You wore that dress; no, the one right there And danced like you do, Flowers fumble from your hair, oh oh. I must confess, you're all I dream about, All that I think without. Never have a single doubt To sing out whatever it is you're trying to say now, Whatever is on your mind. Sing out whatever it is you're trying to say now, Whatever is on your mind. You're so shy, I don't know what you're worth, But you're worth so much more, More than any song could implore, oh oh oh. Your family's gone so let's start our own Down along the wood; Turn our house into a home, oh oh oh. I must confess, you're all I think about, All that I dream without. Never have a single doubt To sing out whatever it is you're trying to say now, Whatever is on your mind. Sing out whatever it is you're trying to say now, Whatever is on your mind. Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh... Sing out whatever it is you're trying to say now, Whatever is on your mind. Sing out whatever it is you're trying to say now, Whatever is on your mind. |
