I think a lot of people are taking this way to literal. It's about her friend who had cancer. And when saying "the bible didn't mention us" to me means that in a way people started forgetting about him in a way. Or tried to at least. And when she's talking about cutting hair when you go through chemo you do lose hair so when they first met his hair was long but as they continued that was gone. That's just the way I take it though.

I really think it's just about saying goodbye and not wanting to deal with the pain of saying goodbye and in place leaves this song as a promise to eventually come back... Well I mean at least that's what I think and I think if I were ever to leave and not say goodbye I would leave this song.

I agree. But I also think he's saying like he doesn't want the night to end. He wants it to last forever maybe because he's perfectly content where he is. We've all wanted a night to last forever and I think that's what he's saying.

This is definitely my new favorite song. I think she's just saying you're perfect so don't put yourself through that pain that you do and to just love yourself the way you are.
