Finally, someone hit the nail on the head. Give someone christian imagery and suddenly it's all about atheism - despite the fact that it ignores both verses and the title of the song. All that stuff really just signifies and easy way out or assigning blame. Because after all - Walking is still honest. Maybe a disagreement about whether or not the asbestos walls and lead paint are literal references to anything rather that just a metaphor for something solid and safe (a house) getting stripped away by weakness. |

Think the highschool explanation isn't so much taken from the song but what you add to it. I think it's much more simple than that. This song starts off the album. It's like a harbinger for the loud, fast, balls-to-the-wall music thatll follow. So when they say "Do you remember us?" he's not asking someone else, he's asking the listener. He saying something like "Oh, you forgot about the mf Blood Brothers? Because we're back. We do crazy shit, we're fucking out of control (messing up the corvette, burn the TV)." And why are they back? Because "This party's dying." Because our music and our lives are in desperate need of a spark. Theyre here to kick ass and raise hell, but with music. Hence: Guitarmy. It's a statement of intent. |
