I think it is about someone calling a person out on their pretentious bullshit. Basically, the person they are addressing fakes it to get by...never addresses their problems or issues, they never get to the root of the problem, instead they use a quick fix...like 'tape' or 'glue'...it's not going to fix it. And because the person is this way, other people suffer for it, especially the ones that are in intimate relationships with this person. But this person is too lazy to change, even for the people they claim that they love. At least that is what it means to me. |

I truly believe this song is about a man who loves a girl so very much, that he sacrifices a relationship with her because he knows he is going to eventually hurt her. He feels as though he isn't good enough for her, even though she loves him unconditionally. However, I believe this because it applies very much to my life. And it sounds just like the man I love speaking to me. It especially resonates with me because I happen to be a 'petite female' in size and height...and he is 6'4". It breaks my heart. |

This is amazing. This is EXACTLY what I have been going through as I am grieving someone I love so very much. It amazes me how articulately you explained what I am feeling when I listen to this song. I'm sorry to hear you are going through the same process.
I think the album is incredible because of the plethora of ways you can interpret each song. You can make these lyrics your own. You can translate them into what they mean to you. And I truly believe that is what makes an excellent album. These men are incredible musicians. They are very spiritual, however, spiritual not in a religious way, they are spiritual because of the awareness of the heart and soul that they display in their music.
I think it should be considered one of the best albums of the decade. |
