This is just my interpretation of the song... "go ahead and burn it down im drunk and so is everyone else in this devil town they wont let me turn around to get one last look at my baby" I think he's saying that someone can go ahead and get screw up the relationship he's in because it's already a huge mess and he's unhappy. But at the last minute, he wants to reconsider, but everyone's already decided for him. "go ahead and build it up again this cities just cemetaries and forgotten, my only hopes to see you and even if i never do" Now I think that this is about a different girl that he used to have a relationship or near relationship with. But he's saying that the connection they had has been forgotten a little. And he's saying that his only hope is to see this girl, because she lives so far away. But he has the hope that he'll see her one day. "and i know what your thinkin but that wont stop this drinking its the least i can do cuz this life is anything but certain when they close the final curtain youll get a glimpse of the truth cuz your... still around" Now this is him talking to his best friend that's a girl, and she's in love with him. She wants him to metaphorically "stop drinking" and get in a relationship with someone who won't hurt him (HER!). And he's telling her that he feels lost, but that one day she'll get to see the end of the story, because she never left. <3 Haha, idk, just the way I related it to my life. :) |
