Jackson Browne – Lawyers In Love Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I think the lawyers are politicians and the song is expressing what a farce the life of a politician is. |
Jackson Browne – The Pretender Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Me too! Isn't it funny that a guy who introduced you to Jackson Browne ended up being in his songs, for me anyway. The song that sums it up for me is "Fountain of Sorrow" But when you see through love's illusions, there lies the danger And your perfect lover just looks like a perfect fool If only I could meet my own Jackson Browne type. |
Jackson Browne – Boulevard Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I read/heard somewhere that it's about the darker side of life on Hollywood Blvd. Prostitution, drugs and survival that harden the heart and break the spirit robbing a person of happiness. Down on the boulevard they take it hard They look at life with such disregard They say it can't be won The way the game is run But if you choose to stay You end up playing anyway This could sum up the vicious cycle. How can you respect life when the hand dealt gives you nothing. Opportunity is for the rich. Death is the only way out so everyone living is forced to play the game with unfair rules. Nobody rides for free Nobody gets it like they want it to be Nobody hands you any guarantee Nobody knows you Nobody owes you nothin Nobody shows you what they're thinking You got to watch the street, keep your feet And be on guard This is the attitude needed for this way of life. A cold hard approach which is good advice for survival. |
Jackson Browne – My Problem Is You Lyrics | 14 years ago |
This song to me is about missing someone and waiting for them. |
Jackson Browne – I'm Alive Lyrics | 14 years ago |
What I like best about this song is the contrast of the lyrics and the music. The lyrics are just heartbreaking, "Dreaming of you, with my heart in my hands, and I was following through with my beautiful plans" says so much. One might think the words belong in ballad of sorrow. Instead the tune is upbeat and very much a song of survival resembling the title. It is a battle cry for moving on with your life. "I want to go where I will never hear your name, I want to lose my sorrow and be free again" The music empowers me, the lyrics bring me to my knees. Way to go Jackson! |
Jackson Browne – Sky Blue and Black Lyrics | 14 years ago |
