i'm with KonverseKid. Was it all for show Don't turn into one of them Turn another page Trust me darling I'm carving them up through the dust in your town Crawling over rubble Just to sort it out Now I tend to wonder why maybe this part is a direct address from the narrator who has surveyed the dating scene, found nothing but rubble, and wondered why? only say this because i went to meet some girls at the bar and they were all dumb :( probably couldnt interpret a song like this |

For me, this is about the media controlling people's thoughts. The whole "let no crisis go to waste" doctrine of modern politics. I shouldn't mention 9/11... Are you such a dreamer To put the world to rights? I stay home forever Where two and two always makes a five People stay home, isolated from other ideas, and get all their information from the news media, which is always polarized and saturated with idealism. I'll lay down the tracks Sandbag and hide Thought it was "sandbags and iron". Here I see a pun: Lay down on the tracks waiting for the train to hit us, and we built the tracks upon which we will be hit by the train. This sounds like a manufactured crisis to me. Conspiracy theory stuff, chilling. Because You have not been Paying attention I needed attention Either: (a) we are not paying attention to the actual events going on around us, or (b) the media paints the crisis as an example of people not giving it enough attention. As though the crisis were avoidable if we had just listened to the story they gave us, so we are obliged to listen next time. Oh, go and tell the king that the sky is falling in But it's not In a democracy, the people are "king". This clued me in to the manufactured crisis interpretation. check out Noam Chomsky, "manufacturing consent" |

| Radiohead – Morning Bell Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| It was King Solomon. He had been granted divine wisdom from God, and the women were just normal women, both of whom claimed that a baby was theirs. Solomon commanded them to cut the baby in half to judge the women's reactions. The real mother wept and said that the other woman could have the baby, while the other woman sneered at the real mother. Thus, Solomon figured out who was the real mother. | |

| Radiohead – 15 Step Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I feel like much of Radiohead is a reflection on the way modern society gets into one's brain like an infection, and the songs are internal dialogue between the afflicted mind and the clear mind | |
