| I agree with your interpretation and I was sad to read all the posts above without finding an analysis like yours. Knowing Tool used ideas from Timothy Leary's researches for the writing of this album (there's no better example than Third Eye's intro on salival, and maynard speaking of drugs in many interviews), it's very probable the song refers to body/mind problems, especially on hallucinogens. If I may suggest some readings to go further with this concept, I recommend reading Gilbert Ryle's The Concept of Mind and Donald Davidson's Mental Events. And for those of you who don't want to go this deep into readings, just find these book's resumes on Wikipedia or Google. | |
