I think the song is pretty straight forward with its meaning: I think this song starts off with a boy and girl being together. The narrator hints at the fact that the two are friends and the girl obviously has feelings for the boy (She had him to herself perhaps as more than friend). The two obviously become physical with each other and have sex. The boy says something to the girl, something that makes her happy. These moments in the song are meaningful to the girl and make her feel on top of the world that's why the chorus is repeated after these events in the song. It is also evident that the girl isn't very accustomed to dating or even the feeling of love (the narrator hints at this in the line: Maybe it's love. How would she know?). Or at least this is my interpretation. Either way, I find this song freaking awesome. Also, first comment! Go me ;) |

Bahahaha, you like The Pretender? By far one of the worst Foo Fighters songs. Now, In Your Honor that was a great Opener. And Still, I mean who doesn't appreciate mellow rock? But this song does kick ass. But I agree not the Foo's best. But better than Echoes, Silence, Patience, & Grace. Still doesn't live up to both The Colour and Shape and In Your Honor. Also, who didn't love the Deadmaus remix of Rope? I thought it was pretty cool that they added that in on the Deluxe edition. |

| I agree. This song is really good. I love how he sings in the beginning, reminiscent of Tom Petty. And the Ohh Ohh Ahhh Ahhh reminds me of that Billy Joel song.Great CD. | |
