This song has such an outstanding meaning for me. Not only does Dallas write incredibly moving and meaningful lyrics, he seems to sing each of his songs with passion. When I fell truly in love for the first time this last year, I couldn't come to terms with the fact that my boyfriend was leaving the next summer. He had introduced me to City and Colour and I fell in love with the band and Dallas. So this song quickly became my favorite. When Dallas sings "Love, love of mine won't you lay by my side and rest your weary eyes before we're out of time.." and so on in the first verse, I associate it with the distance that would soon stretch between my love and myself. This song, simply, gives me shivers. Like everyone else who's willingly and happily infected with Dallas Disease. <3 |
