Hi, i just wanted to share my opinion, im sorry i have to say that I disagree with your conclusion.my conclusion from the interviews, videos, music, lyrics that i've researched on my own time for my own interest, all comes down to the first main fact that it is not excluding anybody. It's for every single human being on the planet. And actually in the chantdown, you can see that, because she is just stating many different phrases that (like you said) "define" our reality in society, and that is what for me proves that she isn't speaking of one particular thing like gay rights, im actually bi and yea i guess i can see how it sounds like coming out of the closet and repressed and stuff, but it's a much higher purpose that she had when writing this. She is gay, but i think this song says far too much, to just narrow it down to homosexuality. The entire album, is for YOUR own self-actualization, not just cause it sounds good or what she says is cool... those are just some of the factors... but, yeah, that's just my conclusion... :/ don't mean to attack, or put you down, i actually think it might give you a different idea to think about ... ? maybe? :) icomeinpeace. |

| the song has amazing beat and rhythm that engages you, but you don't realize the words are unconsciously coming into your mind. First of all in the lyrics: It's not Linderman, it's Benjamin, and it's sail away sail away susan.. I'm sure of that sentence. And the song is about changing your lifestyle,mentality freeing your mind.And that doesn't mean becoming a vegetarian and donating to charity every now and then, it means approaching life through love, hence in the chorus she asks YOU, are you bold enough to reach for love. And at the end she says come with us to shangri-la, which is supposed to be a mythical utopia, in other words for many people "heaven", but it doesn't mean dying, more of a reference to nirvana. She also says, i keep my feet on solid ground is going through the reality of life and i use my wings, its like a higher ability to be able to flee from the "storms". its meant for everyone to step back, look at their life and realize that no matter what you will die one day and according to buddhism reencarnate, so you actually HAVE the choice to change the way you approach life. I've changed my life after discovering JM. (which btw is MJ backwards, lol, just a coincidence?) | |
