Everyone has pretty much said what the meaning is, and the music video for this song shows that the meaning is. I can honestly say, that this song was my life for several months. My life is EXACTLY what the meaning is. Let me tell you my story, and how is ties in to the song. My husband, before we were together, was with this girl for 3 years. Well, she cheated on him, and left him hurt. That's when he met me. Things were perfect between us. I could help him heal, and we had so much fun with each other. That is until he got a phone call from his ex, who he was still in love with. Yes, he was hurt really bad by her, but he loved her. He also loved me. She would call and text, and he would respond. It got to where he once told me that he loved us equal, and that he didn't know who he loved more. He would hide the calls or texts from me, and would leave the room. I honestly know that he always loved me, and that he never cheated on me, but he was tempted to. That is what this song means. He is with a new girl that he really cares about, and his ex girlfriend, who he has not had closure with, calls him. He starts getting mixed feelings. He still cares for his ex, and missed their relationship, but he also has this new girl that is amazing, and he doesn't want to hurt her and cheat on her. He is having a hard time being faithful to his new love. It's just a matter of not having closure when they broke up the only difference in this song and my life, is that I knew all along. :( |
