Well this whole album is based on his father dying and this song in particular as well with the album is about how he can't let go, it's so hard for him to come to terms with how his dad died, and he keeps on regressing to how things used to be. He just reminds himself of how quickly times goes by, and how he misses the things he did with his dad, now feel like distant memories. |

I think Buried A Lie, is about a relationship. Buddy likes to use Metaphors to create a basis of explanation of how he feels. I think Buddy Nelson, actually thrives to know everything he wants to know about this girl he's madly in love with. He trys so hard to analyse and understand everything that runs through her mind. And her being dead, is a dramatic way of emphasizing how closed of and emotionally cold she is. He desperately wants to find out what's bothering her, he wants to know everything. I also think it's about how there's more to what other people say. "It's not a suicide, it's a crime", kind of reinstates how, he feels she's okay, and the damage that's done, is someone else perpretating. How she's dead or needs operating on, and he really wants to help her, he feels sorry for her, in some way or another. |

This is obviously about his enemies captain walking the plank, or just symbolizing how all his enemies, he wished he could destroy in the same fashion, and he feels compelled to compete against them being "dressed to thrill", it seems like theres a competition for this girl, and the only way he can win, is to get rid of them, and try to impress her. And all my enemies, I want their eyes to see, Their captain walk the plank Destroy them, rank by rank. Yest again, he wants to see all of his enemies witness themselves falling and failing, he wants them to be aware that he's winning and that's he's winning the war. Sail with me into the setting sun The battle has been won, but war has just begun And as we grow, emotion starts to die, We need to find a way, just to keep our desire alive. This is obviously where the girl comes into the song, he wants to be free with her, and escape away from everyone else that wants her. "Sail with me into the setting sun". "underdog just look at the mess you made", just goes to show, that he found out, and he's not impressed, however he doesn't want the girl either. |
