I don't understand why everyone thinks that he's with a younger girl! The age is like.. never even referenced. Sarapia totally has the closest interpretation to mine. I think that yeah, this song is about an overprotective, smothering boyfriend. The girl sounds like she was a risktaker, and that's what he loved about her. "Inside your room you said, you never really live until your backs against the wall" Obviously she was the one that ended the relationship because she realized that she was losing her identity. He "breaks the law.. to feel her touch" because the thrill of committing petty crimes reminds him of the time he spent with her, as two young lovers they probably did some illegal things during their run. Just small stuff, I think, like say sex in public or in a car or breaking into abandoned houses. |
