| Rammstein – Engel (feat. Bobo) Lyrics
|
It's kind of a poorly researched song. Christians recognize angels as transcendent entities. We don't "become" them after we die. This misconception comes from artist depictions of people "gaining their wings". Angels don't have wings. What purpose would "wings" serve for a being that transcended the universe?
Would you say people who deny Jesus Christ "become" demons after they die. lol. Of course not. The idea of becoming an angel is as nonsensicle as becoming a bird or a snail. They're wholly different entities.
On a side note, this song seems to be about fear of transcending. Fear of leaving earth. |

Many say this is definitely about the Sealand base, but I prefer to think its about the micronation, Sealand, which lies on an old military fort off the coast of England. The hammering sound near the end makes me think of the people fixing it up with iron, the waves crashing in below. |

This song is about the Falklands War, told from the point of view of both sides. Initially, Argentinian soldiers are going on a "fantasy sea cruise" (it was made out to be a glorious conquest). "What was he thinking?" refers to General Galtieri's idiocy in invading the islands. "Repossession" refers to the fact that Argentinians often believe they did once own the Falkland Islands, though this is historically inaccurate. After this, a British troop wonder why they are fighting for such a remote place. "Taking young lives" refers to the fact that most of the Argentinian soldiers were teenagers. The song is an observational account of the war, not necessarily a protest or glorification. |
